Well, got a bit lazy towards the end of last week - with no training on Friday or Saturday (work and family commitments). However Sunday was a different story.
Started out with a run in the morning, left home at around 7am and managed to complete 14.75 miles albeit in a poor time of 2:00:52 - I need to be through 15 miles at the 2 hour mark for the marathon. However I did have the start of a cold and this reflected in my average heart rate which achieved 159BPM - normally I should be around 150-152 for 8 minute mile pace. Weather was poor as well and light rain accompanied me all the way round.
In the afternoon when it had stopped raining and dried up a bit, I managed to get the new bike out of the garage for a quick lap. The lack of weight is incredible, and without really trying I managed 10.4 miles in 31:49 minutes - averaging 19.6mph. With that kind of speed it should help knock a couple of minutes of my Olympic Tri times.
